Mark Stevens, FHIMSS is Managing Partner of EnableHealth, a professional services firm, which he co-founded in 2017. Since 2010, Mr. Stevens has also lead the health IT consulting firm he co-founded, ARRAHealth. During that time, Mark Stevens also served as a Vice President at Best Practice Partners (BPP), a leader in healthcare training, process re-design and IT optimization solutions serving providers, payers, HIEs and ACOs. Prior to joining BPP, Mr. Stevens career included serving as Vice President of Digital Collaboration Solutions, a health IT professional services firm; Senior Director for eHealth Innovation at World Congress, a leader in healthcare conference management; and Executive Director of the Pennsylvania eHealth Initiative (PAeHI), a not-for-profit organization founded in 2005 by Pennsylvania’s leading healthcare stakeholders to promote broader adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) and health information exchange (HIE).

Mr. Stevens is Past President of the Board of the Healthcare Information management Systems Society’s (HIMSS) Central Pennsylvania Chapter, which he co-founded. Mr. Stevens is a past recipient of the Spirit of HIMSS award, and in 2019 was named a HIMSS Fellow. Additional previous roles include serving as a Contributing Editor for Health IT Leaders & News, an advisor and co-chair for numerous Healthcare Informatics Health IT Summits, Managing Director for its Healthcare Informatics Innovation Lab Series and founding Managing Director of the National MACRA Advisory Council. His prior professional experience includes a decade each in public sector management and executive search.

Stephen Konya serves as the Senior Advisor to the Deputy National Coordinator, and Innovation Portfolio Lead for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). In addition to his role in helping shape the Agency’s long term strategy, he also serves as the Agency’s primary liaison for innovation related projects and challenges, specifically targeting engagement opportunities with the healthcare startup and investor communities. Prior to his position with the Federal Government, he served concurrently as Chief of Staff, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Results Officer for the Illinois Department of Public Health, and Chief of Staff for the IL Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. He holds a BBA in Finance and International Business from Loyola University of Chicago, and was both a Fellow and Mentor of the Mid-America Regional Public Health Leadership Institute (MARPHLI) program, at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC), School of Public Health.

Jelani Jenkins is a 5 year NFL Vet and Certified Performance and Mindset Coach. He is also the founder/CEO of Postseason – a social learning app that helps athletes continue their growth, success, and fulfillment beyond sports.

Jelani built his coaching practice in response to the challenges he went through after retiring from the NFL. Built on two key principles, his practice focuses on Self-Discovery and Self-Mastery. Through mindset training, he helps athletes and high-performers overcome their subconscious limitations to achieve their goals quicker, easier, and with more fulfillment.

In 2021, Forbes magazine highlighted Jelani and his company Postseason for their mission to empower athletes for life after sports.

Charles Aunger is the CTO and an Advisor to Health2047, the innovation center of the American Medical Association (AMA). He has a comprehensive understanding of digital transformation of the healthcare IT market and deep experience in cloud and enterprise technology market strategy. Previously, he served as senior executive director of IT at Stanford Health Care, where he supported over 15,000 employees, enabled pivotal partnerships, and ensured digital alignment for patient-user interactions. Prior to that, Charles was a Senior Vice President at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, where he led the strategic planning and tactical execution efforts around cost balancing, business model development and technical operations optimization. Charles has also served in executive roles at major technology-driven organizations including Mubadala, Accenture, Citrix, NHS, Numonyx, and Bupa. He is recognized for his achievement and contribution to the IT profession and is a British Computer Society Fellow, and a member of the invitation-only Forbes Technology Council. Charles received his MSc in Information Systems Management from University of Liverpool.

Riley Cote played 8 years of professional hockey including 4 with the Philadelphia Flyers mainly known for his fearless, hard style of play. From enforcer to Yogi, Cote’s mission is the integration of yoga/mindfulness and different plant/fungi Medicines. Cote is a co founder of a cannabis company called The Collective and is a partner in a Psilocybin mushroom & technology company Called Wake. Cote is also a co-founder of Athletes For Care, a 501 c3 non-profit that unites athletes as one voice to advocate for research, education, and compassion when addressing important health issues. 

Michael Suk, MD, JD, MPH, MBA, FACS is Chief Physician Officer for Geisinger System Services and Chair of the Geisinger Musculoskeletal Institute for the Geisinger Health System based in Danville, PA. Originally selected to lead the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2012, Dr. Suk became one of the youngest persons to head an academic orthopaedic department in the United States.  Beginning with 2 main hospital centers and 22 orthopaedic surgeons, over the past 9 years Dr. Suk has overseen the tremendous programmatic growth at 13 diverse hospital platforms including one Level I and three Level II trauma centers representing over 100 employed and non-employed surgeons. As the clinical driving force behind the Geisinger ProvenCare® Acute Orthopaedic Programs in Total Hip, Total Knee, Hip Fracture and Lumbar Spine – Dr. Suk is widely sought after for his expertise in new models for healthcare payment and delivery, physician engagement and leadership.

An accomplished leader in organized medicine, Dr. Suk achieved distinction as the first medical student and first Asian-American to be directly elected to the Board of Trustees of the American Medical Association in 1994.  Dr. Suk has also served on the AMA Council on Medical Service and Chair of the AMA’s Resident and Fellows Section where he led the AMA efforts to create governance guidelines on resident work hours. Notably, Dr. Suk was recognized by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea as an outstanding leader of Korean heritage worldwide. In addition, in 2016, Dr. Suk was appointed to the American Medical Political Action Committee Board of Directors – spearheading advocacy for the entire medical profession in Washington, DC.  In 2019, Dr. Suk was again elected to the AMA Board of Trustees – 25 years after his election to as a student and the first to have served in both capacities.

 Dr. Suk received a B.A. with distinction in African-American history from Carleton College, where he achieved athletic recognition in collegiate tennis and was elected Class President. He then went on to simultaneously complete an M.D. at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and a J.D./M.P.H. with special certification in health care law at Boston University School of Law and School of Public Health. He later completed his orthopaedic surgery residency training at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY and a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Weill College of Medicine at Cornell University in New York City. In addition, Dr. Suk completed his M.B.A. from the Kania School of Management at the University of Scranton, where he achieved distinction in the international academic honor society, Alpha Sigma Nu by serving as the Keynote Speaker at his own induction ceremony.

 

Grayson W. Armstrong MD MPH is an Instructor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School and serves as Director of Ophthalmic Emergency Services at Massachusetts Eye & Ear. In this role, Dr. Armstrong oversees injuries and trauma presenting to a 24/7 ophthalmic emergency department in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Armstrong co-founded Ocular Technologies, an ophthalmic telemedicine medical device company which won the MIT $100k Entrepreneurship Competition. He regularly advises ophthalmic telemedicine and artificial intelligence companies. In addition, Dr. Armstrong is involved in health policy, having served on the Board of Trustees of the American Medical Association. Dr. Armstrong completed his residency and a fellowship in Ophthalmic Telemedicine at Harvard Medical School.  

 

Dr. Joshua Scott Dines is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine at Hospital for Special Surgery in NY. He is the Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of ViewFi. A musculoskeletal telehealth application focused on optimizing patient outcomes. He is a team doctor for the NY Mets and previously worked for the NY Rangers and the US Davis Cup Tennis Team. He has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed articles and edited 8 textbooks on orthopedic surgery. 

 

Arvind Subramaniam, MS is the Chief Executive Officer and a Co-Founder of Nanbar Health, a health technology company whose softwares help health systems enable a patient centric system of care with the goals of reducing resource burden and healthcare costs for health systems and patients. Arvind previously conducted research at Duke University focusing on building technologies for those living with chronic illnesses. Arvind has led the development of several mobile applications and softwares for technological advancements in sickle cell disease, pediatrics, chronic pain, cancer, transplant, palliative care, and geriatric care. These technologies have been used by various institutions including Duke University, St. Jude, University of Pittsburgh, and others. Alongside his work in technology, Arvind’s research includes the development of the first geriatric sickle cell functional assessment to detect cognitive or functional decline in people living with sickle cell disease. Arvind’s research hasalso contributed to Health Resources and Services Adminsitration (HRSA) quality improvement initiatives for sickle cell disease care in the southeastern region of the United States. Arvind received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill as a double major in Music and Exercise and Sport Science, and received his master’s degree from North Carolina State University in Physiology. Arvind is currently a medical student at East Carolina University, and was awarded the Brody Scholarship, North Carolina’s only full living and tuition scholarship for medical school.

Alongside his commitment to medicine, Arvind is a composer whose recent composition “In the eauty of the Morning” was performed by the Durham Symphony in 2022.

 

Amy Helwig, MD, MS, FAAFP, Executive Vice President, RTI Health Advance leads RTI Health Advance, joining in 2020 after serving as the Chief Quality Officer and Vice President of Quality Improvement and Performance at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Previously, she held positions at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and served as Chief Medical Officer and Director of Health IT Safety and Clinical Informatics at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.

 Amy Helwig holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, a Master of Science degree in medical informatics from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine in both clinical informatics and medicine, a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and a licensed physician in Virginia and Pennsylvania.

 

Dr. Hala Jassim AlMossawi - a servant leader who works with passion and strives to deliver results and bring out the best in others around her. She has extensive field-based experience managing infectious disease and health system strengthening programs in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as managing multi-country programs and developing policies and strategies, guidelines and protocols, assessment tools, and communication and training materials. Dr. AlMossawi is an American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) designated Master Trainer and holds Master Training Program (MTP) and Human Performance Improvement (HPI) certificates from ASTD. Additionally, Dr. AlMossawi holds a Strategic Planning Expert level certificate. As Vice President of RTI’s International Development Group Global Health Division, Dr. AlMossawi provides strategic leadership and overall management for RTI’s global health portfolio. Michael Kirchhoff, MD, is the Chief Innovation Officer at Cooper University Health Care, where he actively practices Emergency Medicine as an Associate Professor at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.

 

As head of the Cooper Innovation Center, Dr. Kirchhoff helps to drive organizational intellectual property commercialization as the head of the Cooper Innovation Center and leads a team of experts His team plays a key role in identifying and developing of clinical innovations. He also currently serves on the board of Stemplant LLC, a vascular technology company.

 

Dr. Kirchhoff has played key roles on teams that have helped develop new business units at Cooper, including Emergency Medicine Contracted Services, Urgent Care, Emergency Medical Services, and the Helicopter Transport Program. He has developed applications for clinical rounding and documentation, Graduate Medical Education procedure tracking, hospital revenue cycle audits, external provider post-acute communication, and ED over-crowding surveillance.

 

Dr. Kirchhoff also serves as the Patient Safety Officer for the health system. He has served as the Director of the Center for Urgent and Emergent Services, as well as the Medical Director of the Cooper Emergency Department and Urgent Care clinics.

 

Kaitlan Baston, MD, MSc, DFASAM is the Center Head of the Cooper Center for Healing, Division Head of Addiction Medicine, and Medical Director of Government Relations at Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, and is dual boarded in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. Kaitlan obtained a masters degree in Neuroscience from Kings College London and then graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.  She pursued full spectrum family medicine training with obstetrics in Seattle, Washington, with a concentration in maternal child health. Her work in primary care illuminated the stigma and marginalization associated with addiction, and she observed that both patients and medical professionals suffer from the lack of addiction medicine training and integration into healthcare. With the goals of community centered health care delivery, population health improvement, and hospital system quality improvement, she completed an American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) accredited fellowship in addiction medicine. Following her training, she returned to the east coast to begin her career. She became the medical director of Cooper’s addiction medicine program in 2015, and built what is now the Cooper Center for Healing, which includes integrated pain, addiction, and behavioral health care. As division head of addiction medicine within this center, Dr. Baston currently runs an inpatient addiction consult service, multiple outpatient specialty clinics, a wrap-around perinatal substance use disorder program, undergraduate and graduate medical education in addiction medicine, research, and several million dollars in grant funded programming. This work expanded to state and national level policy in the field of addiction medicine, and beyond. Currently, Dr. Baston is focused on work at a policy level to support state-funded programs for substance use disorder treatment and improvements in population health by addressing social determinants of health. In her role as Medical Director of Government Relations, she strives to ensure that all patients have access to compassionate care and evidence based medical treatments that allow them to live full and satisfying lives. Kaitlan is proud to work with an interdisciplinary team of like-minded, driven individuals at Cooper who are dedicated to making positive change in the healthcare system. 

As a psychiatrist for adults and children, Basant Pradhan, MD, works in the Cooper University Health System and Cooper Medical School, Camden, New Jersey as an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics and, Division Chief and Founding Program Director of the brain stimulation (magnetic and electrical), psychedelic research and disorder specific Yoga and mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy (Y-MBCT) programs, all of which were founded by him at Cooper in 2012. In the past he served as the Interim Chief of Cooper Psychiatry. In his pre-medical career, he was a Yogi/monk in a monastery in India. In addition to having extensive training in psychiatry and psychotherapies, he has trained in clinical neurology, clinical psychology and cognitive neurosciences: this rich background greatly inspires him to combine psychology with the brain science and spirituality for diagnostic and treatment purposes. His clinical and research work since 2001 has focused on the development and application of the standardized Yoga and meditation modules as standalone treatments and also in combination with medications and neuro-modulation interventions for many chronic and often difficult-to-treat neuropsychiatric conditions such as treatment resistant depression, PTSD, psychosis, addictive disorders, and also cognitive disorders such as dyslexia and Huntington’s disease. His research has advanced the understanding about neurobiology and therapeutics of the neuropsychiatric disorders and also is aimed at clarifying the pros and cons of psychiatric medications for the young.

 

For academic excellence, Pradhan has been awarded with the Institutional Bronze Medal from the Prime Minister of India (2005) and has been listed in the registry of the Marquis: Who’s Who in America (2018). Currently as a Senior Fellow at the Howard Brain Sciences Foundation, he is involved in development of brain-stimulation based novel treatment for Parkinson’s Disease. He serves the executive council of many reputed organizations such as the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry (GAP) and the National Caucus on Integrative Psychiatry. His research has received grant awards from the National Institute of Health (NIH), the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation (NARSAD) and the Huntington Study Group, USA. Dr. William Paiva is the Founder and Managing Director of OLSF Ventures, a venture fund that has focused on early-stage healthcare investing in the Midwest for over 20 years. Prior to OLSF Ventures, he led the healthcare practice at Sevin Rosen Funds as a Partner, with over $2Bn under management. Over his career, Dr. Paiva’s portfolio companies have raised over $650MM in venture capital funding, closed over $2Bn in corporate co-development funding, and realized exits over $1.5Bn.  Along with OLSF Ventures, Dr. Paiva established the Center for Health Systems Innovation (CHSI) with Cerner CEO Neal Patterson.  The Center is focused on transforming rural and Native American health through the implementation of innovative care delivery and IT solutions. His previous work experience includes positions with JP Morgan’s healthcare group, Merck, PreferUS Healthcare, and more.  Dr. Paiva holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and an MBA from Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business.

Dr. Neal Lemon is the founding  Director of the Cooper Innovation Center where he is helping to rapidly accelerate inventions and startup activity. Neal has 15+ years’ experience in technology transfer and innovation management working in Germany, Ireland, Canada and the USA. Prior to joining Cooper, Neal was a member of the PENN Center for Innovation (PCI) team, which helps commercialize UPENN inventions and is a world leader in university licensing. As Associate Director at PCI, in addition to IP protection and licensing, Neal successfully helped  faculty founders with startup formation and seed funding. Originally from Canada, Neal’s formal education includes  a PhD in Neurophysiology (Ruhr University Bochum, Germany) and an MBA with a focus on International Business and Finance (University of Victoria, Canada). In addition to his experience in technology transfer, Neal was Director of the Targeted Therapeutics and Theranostics Program at Dublin City University, which included a focus on pain management.

As the Division Head, Dr Michael Sabia oversees a group of physicians, APNs, Residents, Fellows, and Office staff at the Cooper Pain Management Center. He started an ACGME-accredited Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship Program at Cooper Health where Residents can receive the proper training to become a Board Certified Pain Medicine Physician. This ACGME Accreditation ensues that Cooper treats all types of pain and performs all of the state of the art interventional pain management procedures offered in modern medicine

John Kravitz, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Geisinger Health System, is responsible for I.T. Strategy, Digital Strategy, Cloud Migration Strategy, Governance and Operations and business growth through merger and acquisition or joint venture activities. John has the technical responsibility for the organization’s advanced analytics platforms, including two Big Data platforms to support innovation of the Integrated Delivery Network as well as the Population Health Platform. Responsible for the regional health information exchange, KeyHIE, which currently connects organizations throughout Pennsylvania & New Jersey. Responsible for all technology support for the enterprise. This is comprised of the Geisinger Health Clinical Enterprise, Geisinger Health Plan IT support of business operations as well as Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.

John is Board Chairman of the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME). Is a member of Health Information Management System Society (HIMSS), has been a past CPHIMSS Board member (Central Pennsylvania HIMSS Chapter Board), KINBER Board, which provides fiber optic connectivity throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

John currently serves as the CHIME Board Chair and is very active in the CHIME Policy Steering Committee which advocates on behalf of its member organizations. Areas of focus in the past have been the Opioid Crisis, testifying to the House Energy and Commerce Committee on behalf of Geisinger’s work in reducing the impact of Opioid prescriptions by more than 66%. Other initiatives include interoperability, use of telemedicine services and Broadband in rural communities thru expanding services and 5G where applicable.

Bill Chamblin is Partner of EnableHealth, a professional services firm, which he co-founded in 2017. During his career, Bill has built businesses in highly technical areas. During 20 years in telecommunications industry, he was a co-founder/president of a fully integrated, regional mobile network operator (MNO) covering a large, multi-county area in central PA.  In addition, he developed a business which provided comprehensive communication services to commercial building developers and their tenants across the Philadelphia area. Bill also led Life Mist Technologies in its primary mission to commercialize an acoustic atomization technology in several key markets.  One initiative involved providing safety/fire suppression systems to the aerospace industry.  More recently, the company focused on using its technology for healthcare broad-area decontamination involving the eradication of pathogens in hospitals that cause Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI’s). Bill is the former CEO of Excetra, a company focused on the commercialization of Penn Medicine IP involving orthopaedic arthroscopic surgical instruments for procedures on the knee. Bill Is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

Brooke M. Buckley, MD, FACS is a Board Certified General Surgeon, Diplomate of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine and pursuing her MBA from The Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business.   She currently serves as Chief Medical Officer of Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital and Vice President of Medical Affairs for Henry Ford Health in Detroit.  Prior roles include Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Meritus Health as well as Associate Chair of Surgery and Medical Director for both the Acute Care Surgery and Wound Center programs at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland.  Dedicated to transforming Health Care delivery, Dr Buckley serves on numerous committees and boards.   She is a Physician Advisor to the Advancement League, a Board of Trustees member of the Maryland State Medical Association (serving as president, 2015-2016), and has served the Committee on Clinical Leadership for the American Hospital Association. As a longtime member of the American Medical Association, Dr Buckley is currently Secretary of the American Medical Political Action Committee.  

 

Dr. Buckley graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health, in Columbus, Ohio, and completed Internship and Surgical Residency in General Surgery at Fairview Hospital in the Cleveland Clinic Health System. She has three young sons.

With the support of PME Mtl, Desjardins Group, the City of Montreal, and the Quebec Government, she formed the CTS Health Technology, an organization dedicated to helping medical businesses market innovative medical products. In 2009, Michelle was a finalist in Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year® competition.

Valerie Wilson, Vice President Operations, Clinical Implementation, and Support of Emovi, Inc., earned degrees from UCLA and The Ohio State University, extensively studying Kinesiology with an emphasis in applied biomechanics and exercise physiology. She worked several years in Division 1 Athletics at UCLA, University of Washington, and The Ohio State University and went on in private business to consult with athletic and active populations, implementing biomechanical assessment methods to address injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. With improved accessibility to technological advancements she has spent the past decade studying about and working with optical motion capture systems to quantify and analyze human movement, and focusing on diagnostic specificity for maximal therapeutic and performance outcomes. Prior to working with Emovi’s Knee Kinesiography with KneeKG she was on a project developing the acquisition of biomechanical data for American Football punters and kickers, volleyball hitters, and baseball pitchers, from high school to professional levels. Valerie has a vision for moving these more precise, biomechanical assessment protocols into clinically accessible spaces including medical clinics, physical therapy clinics, athletic training rooms, and on the playing field or court.

 

Michael Carra is the Vice President of US Sales for EMOVI.  He has spent 15 years in the ortho device space, spanning joint reconstruction, trauma, sports medicine, robotics and wound care.  He has expertise in ASC strategy, payer engagement, capital finance and national contracting.  Michael has spent his career working with GPOs, IDNs, health systems and ASC management groups to lower their costs and drive efficiencies while adding to their top-line revenues by leveraging his experience with innovative contracting.  He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedicine from Auburn University and a Juris Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law; he is a licensed attorney in the State of Alabama.

Adrienne Kirby is the former Executive Chairman and CEO of Cooper University Health Care. She is a health care industry leader with diverse experience as a board member, CEO and COO who has forty years of strategic and operational experience in large health systems, physician organizations, insurance plans and outpatient services. She also has experience as a board member for corporations and healthcare delivery and service organizations. At Cooper University Health Care, Adrienne spearheaded a remarkable organizational transformation beginning with the development and subsequent implementation of a multi-year Strategic Plan and guided the company through two of the most high-profile events in its long history; the opening of the first medical school in the state in 35 years and the formation of the partnership with MD Anderson that resulted in an 83% growth in the oncology service line.

 

Adrienne is now focused on a portfolio of corporate boards for healthcare product, technology and service companies and is currently an Independent Board Director for MedVet, where she serves on the Compensation Committee, Greenway Health, where she serves as Chair of the Compliance Committee, and Sila REIT, where she leads the Compensation committee and serves on the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. She also serves on the advisory board for several other companies at various stages of development.  Adrienne received her certification as a Master Professional Director from the American College of Corporate Directors and holds a certificate from Harvard University’s Women on Boards program. Bill Thomas is the Chairman of the Pennsylvania Esports Coalition, a nonprofit trade association created to advocate for esports and promote the industry throughout the Commonwealth. 

In his “day job,” Bill is the President of Mid-Atlantic Strategic Solutions, a full-service government relations and political consulting firm under the McNees Strategic Solutions Group located in Harrisburg, PA.  As a seasoned government relations and political affairs professional, with significant experience influencing public policy at the state and local level, Bill has helped the Coalition educate legislators, decisionmakers, and the public on the positive impacts of esports across many disciplines. Bill has also helped drive legislative and executive agency policy to grow esports opportunities across the Commonwealth.

Prior to joining the McNees Strategic Solutions Group, Bill was a key staff person within the Pennsylvania legislature. He is the former Leadership Executive Director of the Office of the Pennsylvania House Democratic Caucus Secretary, serving as a reliable member of the House Democratic Caucus leadership staff team. Before working in the leadership ranks, Bill served as the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania House Gaming Oversight Committee, where he gained significant experience in gaming policy, which he continued to influence up until he left the House in 2017. Bill also served as the Deputy Communications Director for the House Majority Leader from 2008 to 2010.

Before arriving in Pennsylvania and working for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Bill served as the Assistant Director of the West Virginia Legislative Reference and Information Center, a nonpartisan, apolitical office of the West Virginia Legislature.

A native of Long Island, New York, Bill is a graduate of the University of Charleston in Charleston, West Virginia. He currently lives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with his wife and three children.

Danilo Burgos was elected to serve his first term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in November 2018, representing neighborhoods in north Philadelphia including Kensington, Hunting Park, Glenwood and Feltonville. He is the first Dominican elected to serve in the Pennsylvania General Assembly.

He is first-generation Hispanic American and was born in New York City. His family moved to Philadelphia in 1990 when he was 10 years old. They attended St. Veronica’s Church and owned and operated a grocery store in the Hunting Park neighborhood in the early 1990s. Danilo attended Roberto Clemente Middle School and graduated from Olney High School in 1997.

In 1998, he opened up his first grocery store in north Philadelphia and that same year, along with several grocery store owners, he co-founded the Dominican Grocers Association of Philadelphia (D.G.A.P.) in partnership with the Eastern Pennsylvania Organizing Project (EPOP). Since 1999, the organization has grown to more than 385 members.

Prior to joining the state legislature, Danilo served as Director of Zoning and Business Development for Philadelphia Councilwoman María Quiñones-Sánchez, where he oversaw the expansion of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and Allegheny General Hospital as well as developed and managed several revitalization projects. He is also the former Director of Constituent Services for Councilman At-Large Allan Domb.

His goals as a state legislator include improving public education and job training, reducing unemployment, and promoting small business development and economic empowerment throughout the district. Danilo also is a strong advocate for criminal justice reform. He is working towards reducing recidivism and providing a pathway for ex-offenders who have learned from their mistakes and want to contribute to society.

Danilo, who has been featured in Al Día, Tainted Justice and El Sol newspaper, served on the board of the Eastern Pennsylvania Organizing Project, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the White Dog Community Foundation, Proyectos Sin Fronteras and Visitation Community Center. In addition, he has collaborated with Congreso de Latinos Unidos and The Latino Partnership on various projects and initiatives.

He currently serves as Director of Latino Vote at the National Hispanic Caucus State Legislators.

As a father, Danilo’s children are his prime motivators and drive his passion to continue to improve and build a better, safer and stronger city of Philadelphia. He aims to give his constituents a light of hope, along with the tools they need to succeed. He wants to break the stereotypes associated with north Philadelphia by fostering mutual understanding between the 197th Legislative District and other districts throughout Pennsylvania.

Glenn W. Mitchell, MD, MPH, CPE, FACEP, FAsMA is Vice Provost and Professor of Healthcare Informatics at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. Previously, he was Chief Medical Officer for Mercy Health System in St Louis, MO, leading 6,000 physicians in evidence-based medicine use and IT systems implementations. For over forty years since his undergraduate, graduate and medical education at Brown University, he has pursued clinical practice and preventive medicine research.

 Dr. Mitchell, a retired Army Colonel, is certified in both Emergency and Aerospace Medicine and is past Vice-Chair of the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He currently serves on the PA Governor’s Health Advisory Board and is Past President of HIMSS of Central PA.  Dr. Mitchell has over 40 publications and co-founded the Annals of Esports Research.

Pete Powell is the Chief of Staff for Nerd Street Gamers. At the beginning of 2020, Powell was promoted to this role to guide the day-to-day operations of NSG employees. 

 Prior to taking on the role of Chief of Staff, Pete joined NSG in January 2019 as Human Resources Director. He came aboard with the goal of building a team full of talented, passionate, fun professionals that empower each other to build something special, while living their passion for competitive gaming. 

 Today, Pete is living his passion, helping to transition more and more talented professionals into the exciting world of competitive gaming. He is also currently an adjunct professor at Neumann University and has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in its Sports Management program since 2015.

 Pete obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Rutgers University in 2004 and his Master's of Business Administration from Saint Joseph's University in 2008. 

 In his spare time, he is a member of the Pennsport String Band as part of Philadelphia's Mummers Parade. Pete currently resides in Voorhees, NJ with his wife, Mallory, daughter, Delaney and goldendoodle, Utley.

Anna Valent, Executive Director of Athletes for CARE, a global nonprofit focused on leveraging the influence of current and retired professional athletes to impact positive changes in health, wellness and safety for all and removing the stigma around metal illness, physical pain and disabilities and nontraditional treatment options, like cannabis.

 Anna’s prior professional experience includes five years as an entrepreneur starting three companies, nearly a decade with the JAX Chamber including four years as Vice President of Operations.  Her expertise includes event management, information technology, facilities management, innovation, board development and strategic planning.

While at UF, Anna was a world ranked distance freestyle swimmer, a four-year letter winner and the 2002-03 co-captain on the Gator Women’s Swim Team.  She achieved Scholastic All-America and All-SEC honors all four years and received honors for her instrumental leadership and performing beyond expectations. Anna and her team were the 2002 SEC Women’s Swimming Champions.

In 2009, Anna was one of the Jacksonville Business Journal’s 40 under 40 and is a graduate of Leadership Jacksonville.  She serves on various community boards and commissions and volunteers throughout her community. Anna is a Gator booster, lifetime member of both the UF Alumni Association and the Gator Splash Club and an F Club member. 

Anna was born in Winston-Salem, NC and spent eight years in the Atlanta area before moving to St. Simons Island, GA.  Anna and her husband, Kevin,  live in Jacksonville, FL and have three daughters who are all active athletes. 

Todd Herremans was born and raised in the small town of Ravenna, Michigan. He grew up playing a variety of sports but eventually earned a scholarship to play football at Saginaw Valley State University; a small Division II school where he studied Kinesiology. Todd is an 11 year NFL veteran. He played his first 10 years in Philadelphia where he was drafted in 2005. In 2012, Todd started a multi-charitable organization called the Herremans Foundation. Their mission is "To help where help is needed..." After a brief stint with the Colts in 2015, Todd decided to retire. After witnessing the hypocrisy of the NFL drug program for 11 years, Todd thought it was time to take a more public approach for his Cannabis advocacy. In addition to being a founding member of Athletes for C.A.R.E., Todd also helped found BODYCHEK Wellness, a health and wellness company specializing in CBD products and alternative medicines. He currently resides in Philadelphia with his wife Elizabeth, daughter Olivia and son Jaxon.

 

Jeanine "Nini" Martin has been in the Global Healthcare Industry for the past 25 years. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Fellow of the Health Information Management & System Society. She is a Global Healthcare Strategist, Nurse Advocate (TIGER Champion 15 years) & Clinical Informatician by trade. Her undergraduate degree is in Business Economics (minor in Math) out of UCSB (Santa Barbara) and she was funded by Dr Farzad Mostoshari of the US Department of Health & Human Services during President Obama’s tenure to attend the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (Baltimore, MD) to study Clinical Informatics. She spent a decade working under the leadership of Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer as a member of Microsoft's 1st Global Healthcare Strategy Team that advised the Committee on investments, strategy, vision, innovation, clinical solutions (across 300+ products) and partnerships (350+ Health IT alliances). She helped the Team build the 1st US Health & Life Sciences Industry Business Unit for software and services from its inception to a $2.5B practice. She then received a promotional job opportunity from another Fortune 100 CEO at Xerox to help build their Commercial Healthcare Practice under Midas+ in the areas of Case/Care Management, Healthcare Analytics and Population Health. She spent the last 6 years growing 3 Health IT companies to unicorn/acquisitions. She is currently the Global SVP of Enterprise Commercial Partnerships at Olive AI. She is a Founding Officer of the TN HIMSS Chapter & its National Health IT Summit (now Summit of the Southeast), Founding President of WiTT (Women in Technology of TN), Past President of WITI (Women in IT International), Past President of AITP (International Association of IT Professionals), past President-elect of the Nashville Chapter of PMI (Project Management Institute), former Advisor to Leadership HealthCare/Nashville Health Care Council and former Board Member of the Nashville Technology Council. She was also on the Advisory Board for the Global LSIT (Life Sciences IT) Institute (Biotech, Pharma and Medical Devices) now owned by HIMSS Global. Finally, she Co-Founded the American Health Care Congress that was acquired by the World Healthcare Congress.

She was recently recruited by the office of Kate Johnson, President of Americas to be a Founding Officer and VP of Membership for their 1st Global Women in Channel D&I Leadership Committee. She was recruited by Jake Plummer, former NFL QB for the Denver Bronco's to be an Athletic Ambassador for A4C (Athletes for Care). She is a former Olympic-level athlete in tennis whose native language is German. She was born in Boston, MA, raised in San Francisco, CA and now resides in Brentwood, TN with her family. She loves all sports, entertainment and travel.

Patricia Diggin earned an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Siena College and an MBA degree from West Chester University. She has over 30 years of experience in business development and marketing.  In 2011 Pattie joined West Chester University as an Adjunct Professor of Marketing and Management and since 2018 has served as the Director of The Cottrell Entrepreneurship Center. Pattie sits on the Board of Directors of The Fund for Women and Girls. She is a member of the Ambassador Committee at the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, member of the WCU BID Design & Advocacy Committee and sits on the i2n Board of the Chester County Economic Development Council.  Since 2014 she has been a SCORE volunteer and works collaboratively with organizations in the region that are committed to expanding the impact of innovation, entrepreneurship programming and supporting development of small businesses.

Dr. Lindsey Keenan is an Associate Professor and Athletic Trainer in the Department of Sports Medicine at West Chester University, and is Co-Founder and CEO of PROmotion Health, a mental health screening platform for student-athletes. She received her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Lock Haven University, her master’s degrees from East Stroudsburg University in Athletic Training and Sport Management, and her doctorate in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Temple University. Dr. Keenan works clinically with the WCU NCAA Women’s Rugby national championship team and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses, including sport psychology, cadaver dissection, and injury prevention.  Her research focuses on mental health in student-athletes, and she has published in several peer-reviewed journals in athletic training and sport psychology. Dr. Keenan is considered a national expert on student-athlete mental health and has presented nationally and internationally on student-athlete depression, psychological aspects of concussion, and mental health screening. 

With extensive technical experience in Healthcare IT, Kim Ireland has implemented and supported EHRs and developed and optimized workflows for vendors like Cerner, large health systems like Penn State Health, specialty practices, and a startup HIT consulting firm.

She utilizes over 20 years of healthcare experience to guide new technologies being created, bridge the gap between the current healthcare environment, create a path for technology adoption and mold the future leaders of healthcare.

Kim holds a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from Florida State and a master's degree in Information Systems from Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Scott Heinerichs EdD, LAT serves as the Dean for the College of Health Sciences at West Chester University in Pennsylvania.  In this role, he serves as the chief executive and academic officer of the College which includes the 90+ permanent faculty and over 3,100 students in the departments of: Communication Sciences and Disorders, Health, Kinesiology, Nursing, Nutrition and Sports Medicine.  He has primary responsibility for all operational decisions and ensuring compliance with six specialized accreditors within the programs.  Dr. Heinerichs holds the rank of full professor and has been at West Chester University for 21 years as a faculty member in the Department of Sports Medicine.  Before his current role he served as a clinical athletic trainer for the intercollegiate football team for 13 years and graduate athletic training program director.  In each of these roles he has been focused on evidence based practice principles in the treatment of patients and education of students, this works requires him to understand and know about the clinical validity of research.

Daryl Autar is the Co-Founder and CEO of Wavy Health, inc.. Daryl holds Masters of Science degrees in Economics and Business and Econometrics and Management Science. He pioneered the field of data science in his home country The Netherlands. He quickly rose to Lead Data Scientist positions at multinationals and corporates, both internally and as consultant. In his spare time he competed in and usually won hackathons. After he met his now Co-Founder at one of his clients, they decided to win more hackathons together. After winning the first prize sponsored by Novartis at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, Daryl decided to turn Wavy from a hackathon concept into a full fledged startup.

Pierre duPont is a Partner at Cerity Partners. His primary activity is to help his clients live wisely with their wealth, invest thoughtfully, operate their Family Offices, build their businesses and their philanthropic endeavors, and project their wealth forward to their descendants and the communities in which they live. Pierre is also an active mentor of executives starting or growing their companies. Before joining Cerity Partners, Pierre was at Two Sigma Investments, where he raised capital for the firm's quant hedge funds, and he invested capital in private deals in the US, Mainland China and Israel. For most of his career, Pierre was a business executive and an entrepreneur, co-founding five software companies resulting in 1.5 IPOs, one acquisition and some spectacular failures. After getting an engineering degree from Princeton University, Pierre started his career at Bolt, Beranek & Newman (BBN) as a research scientist and software engineer in AI, computational linguistics, parallel processing, computer graphics and what today would be called “big data.” He is on the Management Committee of the New York Alternatives Investment Roundtable, and a Mentor at Cornell’s Smith Family-Business Initiative and for the Princeton Entrepreneurship Council. Pierre is on the Board of the International Foundation for Art Research and on the Advisory Boards of Shores Impact and HVN Travel Group, Inc.

 

Abhinav “AB” Gundala is the Chief Data Officer and a Co-Founder of Nanbar Health, a health technology company whose softwares help health systems enable a patient centric system of care with the goals of reducing resource burden and healthcare costs for health systems and patients. AB has previously worked in population health analytics, EHR development, and mobile health analytics. AB has co-authored multiple research publications for advancements in analytically-driven clinical decision support systems. AB has also led and assisted in the development of multiple mobile health applications and software, which have been used by Duke University, University of Pittsburgh, MUSC, and others. AB’s portfolio also includes strategy opportunity analysis for large midwestern health systems - leading a system to over 2 million USD in annual shared savings through a palliative program implementation - as well as the creation of several innovative analytical tools for real-time biometric analysis and reporting.

AB received his Bachelor’s of Science from North Carolina State University with a major in Aerospace engineering and a minor in Business Administration. AB is currently a master’s student at North Carolina State University’s reputed Institute of Advanced Analytics.

Outside of academics and business, AB enjoys reading, traveling, photography, sports, making music, and watching movies.

Born in Philadelphia, Michael has always been dedicated to the area, and he has a history of creating and growing large-scale, technology-enabled businesses in and for various companies of all sizes.

 

 

Thompson H. Boyd, III, M.D., FHIMSS, FACHE, FABQAURP, CHCQM, CPHIMS, CHFP, has been a practicing physician in Internal Medicine for over 24 years, and then in 2007 went to work full-time at Hahnemann University Hospital in 2007, as the Physician Liaison, and in 2015 the Medical Director of Informatics. Volunteer Service with HIMSS has been in the Committee Areas of Privacy & Security, Public Policy, Clinical Business & Intelligence, Annual Conference and Education, and in HIMSS Task Force Interoperability Standards Advisory and the HIMSS18 Pre-Conference Symposium on Compliance and Program Integrity, the HIMSS Nominations Committee, and the HIMSS Blockchain Taskforce.  He is also member of SHIFT, formerly the Protecting Privacy to Promote Interoperability Work Group (PP2PI), along with its Legal and Policy Working Group.-participation screening/sudden death prevention, and digital technologies in cardiovascular health.

 

In his current role as Director of Product and Security Officer at Healthjump, Jose Horta has applied his experience as an industry leader, data engineer, product designer, and interoperability specialist to morph Healthjump into the leading EHR Data Platform with more than 100 million patient charts. Additionally, he serves as an advisor to the CDC, focusing on FHIR and HL7 Interoperability. Throughout his career, he has held positions and consulting roles at various companies within the Healthcare space, including but not limited to Virtua Health, UPMC Susquehanna, Trinity Health, Main Line Health, CMS, Blue Cross Blue Shield, SAP, Maximus, and Xerox.

Jake Henry is participating in the HST 2022 StartUp Pitch Competition. He founded Lectra after suffering muscular injuries as a high school and collegiate athlete. He's devoted himself to Lectra, winning the WCU-BIZ Idea competition of 335 technology companies, participated in the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization competition of the top 100 collegiate entrepreneurs in the country, and placed 2nd place in the Entre Pitch Competition out of 67 technology companies. Jake obtained medical knowledge through his mentorship at SAI Med partners oncology consulting corp. He also is running a social media page for Lectra of over 500k followers!
